About Michelle

Michelle Pearson is a distinguished and award-winning cabaret performer, singer and creative who is recognised by her powerful, soulful sound, moving interpretations of songs, and engaging storytelling in cabaret and theatre. Michelle is also an accomplished producer, event manager and publicist, with a background in catering and commercial cookery. 

Born and living in Adelaide, Michelle is well known for her hit music and food sensation, Comfort Food Cabaret which combines storytelling, live music and cooking.

 

More recently Michelle has experienced immense success with her new production Down Under: The Songs That Shaped Australia, which completed a successful season at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe as the recipient of the House of Oz Purse Prize and Fringe World 2024 Best Music Performance. The show has toured around Australia extensively and completed several sell-out seasons. Michelle was the 2024 recipient of the Frank Ford Commission which saw her present her critically acclaimed new work Skinny at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival that June.  Following its debut season which received rave reviews from audiences and critics, Skinny was redeveloped for a Fringe style environment and was performed at the 2025 Adelaide Fringe and won the award for Best Cabaret (weekly) and the Mental Health Commissioner’s Staging Change Award. Skinny will now make its UK debut at Latitude Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with Underbelly in July and August followed by a short season at the Australian Theatre Festival in New York City.
